"MEPS" is a tool that opens new avenues for sample pretreatment methods with a syringe needle integrated into a solid-phase cartridge. Sample extraction operations can be performed using the same techniques as conventional solid-phase extraction (SPE). It is possible to reduce the final sample liquid volume to a very small amount, allowing for online use with LC-MS. Furthermore, it can also be used for the pretreatment of complex biological samples.
